automotiveMastermind Gives Back: 2021 Year in Review

Giving back is an integral part of automotiveMastermind’s core values. We’re continuously looking for ways to go the extra mile when supporting our dealer partners, our team and our shared communities, regardless of what kind of obstacles are thrown our way.

Looking back to 2020 for example, we made several important donations to notable national charities and nonprofits, including The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Las Vegas during NADA and the CDC during the onset of the pandemic. From one challenging year to another, we entered 2021 ready to support our communities – and aware of the impact we can make when we help each other through the toughest times.

To close out this year on a high note, in this blog post, we highlight some of the ways aM gave back in 2021, recap the ways our team supported multiple incredible causes and celebrate our collective efforts throughout the year.

Mastermind Gives Back to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation

In December, we closed out 2021 and the season of giving with a charitable contribution to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. In lieu of traditional holiday gifts, we donated $10,000 on behalf of our dealer partners to the organization.

“Charitable giving has remained a core value at automotiveMastermind since our early days as a startup,” said Mastermind Co-Founder and CEO Marco Schnabl. “My family and I have close ties with the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, and I’m proud to expand our support through this donation during a very difficult and challenging year.”

With its national headquarters in Tampa, the nonprofit is dedicated to funding research to eliminate childhood cancer while focusing on finding less toxic and more targeted therapies through partnerships with leading hospitals nationwide.

3rd Annual automotiveMastermind Gives Back Philanthropy Initiative

Even outside the holiday season, aM regularly gives back on behalf of our employees and dealer partnerships through our automotiveMastermind Gives Back program – especially in months like April during National Volunteer Month and October during our annual automotiveMastermind Gives Back Month.

For the third year in a row, aM’s month-long initiative took place this October with each of our regional offices selecting a local charitable organization to benefit from their efforts. Here in the United States, the aM office selected the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Internationally, our team in Canada selected the Children’s Hospital of London, Ontario, our India office rallied together for CanKids and our Poland operations teamed up with a local Gdansk orphanage

Throughout the month, Team Mastermind participated in charitable walks, games and raffles, as well as donated their time and money to raise funds for the organizations of their choice. Additionally, aM matched all employee donations up to $10,000 to further support their efforts.

A Year’s Worth of Charitable Giving

aM’s commitment to charitable giving isn’t isolated to just April or October, of course. Annually, aM grants every team member three full days (or 24 hours) of paid time off designated specifically for volunteer efforts. In doing so, we hope to empower and inspire our vast global team to connect with the communities they live in more closely.

Over the course of 2021, our team touched thousands of lives and supported multiple incredible organizations with their donations and volunteer hours. These organizations included:

  • Girls Who Code | Aimed at closing the gender gap in computer-related fields, Girls Who Code uses the core values of Bravery, Sisterhood and Activism to inspire women and girls to participate in STEM programs.
  • Global Autism Project | Created to assist families with relatives on the autism spectrum, the Global Autism Project believes in the power of community, collaboration and listening to inspire entrepreneurs, educators, Autistic Self-Advocates and leaders working together to co-create content, resources and spaces that inspire an accepting, empowering world for everyone.
  • Career Karma | To empower those from non-traditional backgrounds in the IT industry, Career Karma is on a mission to help one billion people over the next 10 years and to connect the world’s talent to their next opportunities.
  • Special Olympics | One of the most well-known charitable organizations in the country, Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Finally, we can’t close out the year without tipping our cap to the aM team members who raised awareness for men’s health through the Movember initiative. The aM team crushed their goal and raised almost $3,000 by growing mustaches and having important conversations with friends and family about keeping up with regular check-ups.

Going the extra mile to support our dealer partners and communities has become a part of who we are as a company – especially over the last two years when our support was needed the most. No matter how challenging the road ahead may be, these last two years have proven we’re stronger together.

Whether it’s jumping in to offer a helping hand like we did in 2020 with our virtual BDC program or giving back through volunteer hours and charitable donations, we’re committed to continually supporting our dealer partners and communities. That’s what we mean when we say “never a vendor, always a partner.”
