Tip 4: Set Appointments for Drop Offs & Deliveries • Face-to-face contact for lease returns, test drives and delivery of vehicle must be done by appointment, while following social distancing guidelines • When possible, arrange for as many of these 'live' activities to be done at the customer's home versus having the customer leave their home to come to the dealership Tip 5: Disinfect Vehicles After Usage for Test Drives & Deliveries • Each time a dealership employee or customer uses the vehicle, both the vehicle and the keys must be properly disinfected according to CDC guidelines • To ensure customer confidence, disinfect the vehicle while the customer watches in their driveway or document it and share a video of the vehicle being sanitized with the customer afterwards • Consider using steering wheel, floor and seat covers as additional safety measures • Test drives should be conducted by the customer only, dealership employees should not accompany them Tip 6: Safely Obtain Required Signatures • If paperwork cannot be signed virtually, an appointment must be made at the dealership or outside of the customer's home • Ensure all surfaces and items used during the transaction (i.e. pens, clipboards, tablets, etc.) are properly disinfected before handing them over to the customer
