It's very difficult for your employees to dedicate themselves to your customers' happiness if they don't feel that same commitment from you in return. As a leader, treat people as you'd want to be treated, with respect and care for their well-being. Expect and require the same from everyone on your team. While you might be tempted to make an exception for someone who's highly skilled but toxic to be around, their extra performance is almost never worth the drag they create on everyone around them.
