Develop a Robust Homegrown Inventory Trade-ins are a critical source of pre-owned vehicles and new vehicle sales. According to NADA, new dealerships stock roughly two-thirds of their pre-owned inventory from trade-ins: 43% from new car purchases and 22% used. By taking a data-driven approach to inventory management, dealers can both maximize their primary source of used vehicles and uncover new sales opportunities by developing a homegrown inventory. 2 HOMEGROWN INVENTORY: VEHICLES THAT WERE FIRST SOLD AT A DEALERSHIP AS A NEW VEHICLE SALE, SERVICED AT THAT SAME DEALERSHIP, TRADED BACK IN, RECONDITIONED AND FLIPPED AS A PRE-OWNED SALE.
