1 HAVE A PLAN You have goals, you may have a strategy, but do you have a plan to execute? As a leader, one of your primary responsibilities is to develop a plan that will get you from where you are now to where you've committed to be in the future. Having goals without a plan to achieve them is like having a destination but no map of how to get there. At the same time, another one of your primary responsibilities as a leader is to not allow your team to be paralyzed or captured by the lack of a perfect plan. Sometimes, it makes the most sense to start leading in the direction of your destination, recognizing that you'll figure out details en route. A GOOD PLAN, VIOLENTLY EXECUTED NOW, IS BETTER THAN A PERFECT PLAN NEXT WEEK. GENERAL GEORGE S. PATTON
